Do you want to give your home a new look? Are you planning to change your home’s color scheme? Some people regularly redecorate or redesign their homes to achieve a different look and feel; making their homes dynamic and versatile.
No matter what reason you may have for wanting a home makeover, one of the changes you can make that can have a huge impact in the overall look of your property in the Philippines is the color scheme. Below are some of the color trends for 2014 to help you decide on what to use for your Manila property.
* Pastels. Pastels are the new neutrals. You do not have to stick to a single shade; you can choose a mix of pastels and assign a shade for each room in your house. Cool pastel colors of green and blue will look refreshing while pastel colors of pink and yellow will look warm and welcoming. Mix these up with light colored fabrics, curtain, and furniture. Wood that has a light shade such as pine, birch, oak, and walnut will look great with pastels.
* Green and purple. For those who are looking for a more contrasting color scheme that can make a big impact, the combination of green and purple is slowly becoming a trend. However, this color scheme is not for the faint-hearted. Try it out in a small discreet area of your house first before using the color scheme for your whole house.
* Elementals. Another emerging color types are those that resemble elements which is why they are collectively described as elementals. Some examples of shades that fall under this description are metallic shades, greys, silver, bronze, rust, clay, and even pearl, among others. These mineral and metal colors are great alternatives to pastels if you want a stronger impact and a raw look that reflects nature.
* Romantic look. If you prefer a subdued yet romantic and nostalgic look, then go for shades of rose and dark blue- and green-greys. Old rose shades have long been common favorites but you can put a new twist to this by adding in some blue-greys and green-greys. To keep the look modern, you may choose a more modern look for your furniture and other accessories. But for those that prefer to go for the nostalgic and romantic look, period furniture pieces are good to mix and match with this color scheme.
